NNEOC College Readiness Services Provided: 1. Computer Proficiency This workshop is geared for beginners and will take you step-by-step into getting started and feeling comfortable using a computer. 2. Career Information/Assessment This workshop explores various occupations and assesses individual skills and interests. This workshop also matches your skills and interest with various occupations and provides information on training program available. 3. Resume/Interviewing Assistance This workshop will provide tips for interviewing and will identify common mistakes as well as strategies for success. This workshop also provides information on various resume styles and also offers individual assistance with resume writing. 4. Financial Aid/Admissions Assistance This workshop will assist students in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online, and will include information on renewing the (FAFSA) and other scholarship information. Students will also receive assistance with college admission applications online.
5. Understanding the Culture of Higher Education This workshop provides insight into the world of higher education from the minority student perspective. This workshop offers survival tips for students to ensure success while pursuing a higher education. 6. Testing and Application Fee Payment NNEOC assists participants by paying their admissions application fee and/or any testing fees for tests such as GED, ACT, SAT, and COMPASS (or similar college-entrance test).
7. In addition we strive to -Refer students to other resources that offer additional services -Scholarship searches -Academic advising -Building a support group
