Northwest Nations Upward Bound (NNUB)
The Northwest Nations Upward Bound project serves students from seven different target area reservations: Shoshone-Paiute, Kootenai, Yakama, Spokane, Colville, and Umatilla Tribal Reservations. The overall goal of the NNUB project is to enable students to complete high school and go onto college. NNUB provides academic assistance to qualified students during the school year. This may include tutoring, study skills, academic planning, career exploration, field trips, college admission and financial aid application assistance.
NNUB also provides a six-week summer session at the UI. Students study math, science, English, Spanish, study skills and elective courses, and can earn high school credit. To be eligible for NNUB, students must be low-income with first generation college student status.
